Fuel Pump question

hey guys.. The turbo that i will be running is a sr20 T25 and I plan on boosting around 7 -8 pounds daily. The question is.. do i need the 255 fuel pump or the 190? and also.. i was looking for a reputable site to purchase a fuel pump but couldnt find one. Can someone post a site where i can buy whichever fuel pump you think i should get? thanks:)

Go for the 190lph HP at lightning motorsports

190 HP, read my FAQ why.

flyineunos 03-07-2007 01:49 PM

i noticed the fuel pump was for a 94+ miata and mines a 1990. would this still work? thanks

Braineack 03-07-2007 01:51 PM

yes, read my DIY PROJECTS and see what it looks like and how to do it :gay:

15-30min job

Flyinmx5 you realy need to read the DIY manual Braineack assembled and tweaked for us please. It will be alot quicker for you as all the basic questions are covered. BTW fuel pump swap is a 20 minute jobs on these cars frigin easy as hell.

Anybody know if the 190lph-HP works for the 99+ NB miata too?
I know the newest fuel system is returnless, but the pump should work, right?

fmowry 03-07-2007 03:34 PM

You don't need a high pressure pump in your NB since you're running big enough injectors and an EMU.

People have reported that the NB's pump can't hold 60 psi under load.

Braineack 03-07-2007 03:50 PM

by people do you mean POPSTOY?

yes it does work, I've got a 190hp pump in my 99 and it used to have a 255hp (moron previous owner) that worked fine too.

C'mon. You HAVE to have a return fuel system in an NB to run more than 180 whp. POPSTOY said so. :td:

Braineack 03-08-2007 09:56 AM

yeah and 99-01 injectors are 260cc at 43.5psi, because, he saw it himself :jerkit:

magnamx-5 03-08-2007 10:49 AM

Ouch whole lot of love. :ughug:

jhoexp 03-08-2007 05:45 PM

Ahaha, you guys make this forum so much fun than miata.net :)

So a 190lph-hp isn't worth on a '99 nb?
Do you think that making the dual feed mod on my returnless fuel rail (removing the pressure damper) and keeping the stock fuel pump will be ok for 200-220whp?

olderguy 03-08-2007 05:50 PM

If I had the returnless fuel system, I would try to come up with a way to put a pressure/boost sensitive FPR in the back and rip out the OEM setup. Surely somebody with an NB and turbo has looked into this. Running a vac/pressure line is much easier than a fuel return line.
