Has anyone tried the fullrace.com Inconel stud kits, either the 8mm or 10mm ones? At $50 it looks like a good deal for inconel studs.

I am looking to use a set of 8mm on my MSM turbo install. I have all kinds of good stuff about fullrace products in general, but not too many details on these inconel studs.

A286 is not Inconel, the threads are cut and not rolled like TSEs, and there is no locking hardware. Do it once, do it right, do it white with TSE.

That is what I was wondering as well. A286 is not an alloy I am familiar with. My only option is the FM 8mm kit then, the MSM flanges do not have enough room to drill out to 10mm.

One of the guys out at CMP last month with an MSM had the FM Inconol studs and he has not had any issues with them yet on track. He was breaking the stock studs out on the track, which is what caused him to switch.

A286 is just another iron-nickel superalloy so it's properties should be similar to inconel. In fact I think that some of the original discussions about different stud materials on here focused on A286

Yes he had a grey MSM. I forget his name. He was friends with Ross U(forget the rest of his last time). He is in DE4 and I also think is an instructor.

DO it with TSE - you WON'T regret it! Had my first nut-wrenching-free track day after installing TSE's kit - freakin awesome not having to **** with low boost, broken studs, and hot cracked manifolds (props to ARTech there on the manifold)

A286 is not a "superalloy" afaik, it's a specific type of stainless steel used for high temp applications.

It's used for aerospace fasteners, I know that much. If I still worked at my old job, I'd even be able to tell you about the properties...if it weren't confidential. They're tested in house so it was proprietary.

Inconel is a trade name like Klenex or Teflon. A286 is not Inconel and based on a quick look at the spec sheet, Inconel 718 (I think that's what FM/TSE use?) looks like a superior material for exhaust manifold studs.

Just FYI TSE has not released which exact Inconel alloy they use for their studs. This is mostly so other companies do not just make copies. I do not think FM or Begi has released which alloy they use either.

At the end of the day the TSE studs are the only ones that have been tested on the track and who testing them has been stated. I am also sure Savington could get you lap times to if you asked nicely. Begi or FM has not released that info at all.

I thought I saw they used 718 somewhere but after searching it looks like I was mistaken. My fault.

If I were them I'd keep that information proprietary also. Too many copiers that don't know how to research materials out there (see Full-Race )

Our alloy is indeed proprietary. It worked - BEGi and FM use a different alloy.
