wow this is a long thread. I'm going to run thru it again when I get home so I can actually see pics (work blocks them). I sent this thread to a DSM friend asking what he thought about what I should do and here's was his response/solution (for my LOW psi greddy setup).

Install a catch can for your DSM (2G)

turbo install is later this week, trying to get everything I need done in advance.

that plastic fuel seems shitty

When I took my intercooler tubing off a month ago to tap it for an IAT sensor it was dry as a bone. So I checked the hot side, and again no oil. Now I was only running 8 psi, and it has only been a couple weeks at 10-12 psi. But under DD use it is not sucking any oil, and my catch can is dry inside :D

Using the OEM 1.6 pcv valve under Bells recommendations.

Did anyone ever come up with a final agreed upon answer to this. Catch Can, no Catch Can, PCV, no PCV. Some of the people that often make the most sense disagree, and thats making this a bit difficult.

Where is the second line on your catch can going, and how do you empty it. I see the one on the valve cover, but I can't tell what the second line going down is connected too.

One from valve cover, and the other on the intake pre-turbo, If i'm seeing it right.

Normally there is a connection in there anyway, allowing the intake air to suck the gasses from the valve cover into the intake, and combust said gasses with the rest of the air.
The Catch can is just acting as a filter to keep the intake clean, while also pulling air from the crankcase.

PCV Valves are not an issue...until they break. If yours does not leak, do not replace. If it does, replace with a better one (several writups on pcv valves that are interchangeable with the Miata are on the forums. Miata one is plastic and has been known to fail). I'm still on the stock PCV valve and this is now 30k miles into turbo (110k total)
