good news for all you 1.8 DIYers!!!!!!!

this morning i spoke to they guys at ETD racing, they now make a manifold to make the greddy kit fit onto the 1.8!!!!!! cost effective and functional, no more messing around w/ sub par ebay kits. you can buy the greddy kit and order the manifold from http://www.etdracing.com/miata1.html and toss the crack prone greddy manifold away and replace it with this nice steel mani. how awesome is that?

Why not skip buying the Greddy kit alltogether and go straight to Bell and buy their new kit for almost the same price.

Dow.tom 11-10-2007 07:01 PM

got him.. or better yet.... make it a true DIY and piece one

roadstereunos28 11-10-2007 07:21 PM

well its just an option for all th broke motherfuckers like me out there

New and useful stuff is always good. Options keep growing. I like that. Look at how the G-speed radiator buy blew up.

Just order the Bell kit. It's great that they offer the manifold, but as of the 7th it's a good fix to an obsolete problem.

It'd be a good option if you had a Greddy on your 1.6 already and then got a 1.8 to swap in.

thank you!

How about being a true diy'er and building your own manifold?

New options are always great, it's nice to see aftermarket support for your own vehicle.

Seriously though, if you're going to start with the greddy kit and upgrade from there you're eventually going to replace every bit in the kit. Why not bypass all that stuff from the beginning and build a kit to your desires in the beginning.

kotomile 11-11-2007 02:38 AM

I agree, Effini, but I'm glad I got the Greddy kit because upgrading/replacing parts taught me a lot about what to look for in a turbo setup. Armed with the knowledge I now have after replacing nearly everything in the Greddy kit (still have a few moe parts to go), I can piece together something much better next time around. I'm sure there are others in the same boat.

I used a 110v MIG but my $90 Flux-core could have done the same job.

Has anyone actually purchased and assembled one of these kits for $179?

Craig
