Default list of turbos

i made a mistake and got a turbo off a 2001 jetta 1.8 for my 2.0 fe3. looks way to small. im trying to go low budget so what are some decent turbos i could easily find for low cost that will give me some fun. granted this is in a kia sportage not a miata. i beat it like a truck and drive it like a racecar lol

im also looking into supercharging instead if anyone has any info

There are some pretty interesting DIY SC's out there. If you can find the space, a MP62 would be a good start.

I bet you could set up an Eaton blower using modified JR parts on an fe3. There's a million bosses on it - would just require bracket modification. I was originally going to install an m62 on a stock 2.0 until I came across another fe3 with a bunch of turbo parts included. It looked like a simple process at that point - just modding/fabbing brackets and using timing belt tensioners for the pulley setup. On the turbo side, you can mod a 1.8 bp turbo header to fit if it has a "full" rectangular (no contour cutting) flange by redrilling some holes, and elongating others. JGS also sells a flange if you want to build your own. And I believe there are some headers made for the mx6 that will work. A lot of the mx6 guys running FE3s use the t3 super60 for a lower boost "daily driver" turbo. From there you could step up to a "budget" t3/t04e and size compressor/turbine appropriately for the kind of power you want. Definitely get a stage 3 turbine and 63AR. Head over to mx6.com and check out the FE-DOHC section under 1st MX6. There's a bunch of guys from NZ and AUS running FE3s with boost and lots of info. hth- rob
