Greddy Turbo wont go past 5psi at TB
 

Have a manual boost controller and still the damn thing wont go past 5psi any thoughts?

vacuum/boost leak. Check all your couplers

Also, make sure WG is properly adjusted and exhaust flow is OK (make sure cat is not clogged).

I'm at 10 from 3900-7000 all day long with mine.

wouldnt it idle funny with a boost/vaccum leak. im still running the afm

Maybe, maybe not. At idle it is in vacuum, could keep it sealed. Under boost it may be leaking with positive pressure.

advice on checking the cat? how do you adjust the wg that comes with the greddy kit. this is my first turbo car so im learning as im going.

i have these clamps some of them have little cracks if that helps. theres a couple of worm clamps on the bov

what happens when you remove the vacuum line from the wastegate and boost?

I had a problem with my MSM not being able to go above 5psi. Made a funny noise at the attempt of it. Did some looking around and my charge pipe was loose. Check couplers and bolts for all your piping.

Exhaust shops use a pressure probe to detect clogged cats. They either drill a small hole or tap into the O2 sensor port and idle the car. If the cat is clogged, the pressure will be high.

The Greddy wastegate is easy to adjust. I've seen some good pictures of this elsewhere on the forum. Suggest a search. Anyway, the steps are (make sure everything is COOL):
1. Remove the wire clip that secures the actuator rod end to the wastegate shaft.
2. Pull actuator rod end free from wastegate shaft.
3. Loosen lock nut so that the actuator rod end can be rotated on the threaded portion of the actuator rod. You'll need two wrenches to do this, moving against each other.
4. By rotating the actuator rod end, you can change the length of the overall acuator rod. Making the rod shorter will increase boost. Making the rod longer will decrease boost. It is usually adjusted to where the actuator rod just barely holds the wastegate closed at rest. Rotate the actuator rod end. DO NOT ROTATE THE ACTUATOR ROD.
5. Now, reassemble and drive. Reassembly is the reverse of the above.

i have not tried that, i really dont want to hurt the damn thing.

well if your wastegate isnt opening due to insufficient psi, removing the vacuum line from the wastegate shouldnt do anything....keep your eye on the boost gauge to prevent overboosting.

problem solved, heres what i did to get 8psi. removed the manual boost controller and adjusted the wastegate. easy enough thanks for the input.
