gt2560r to frame clearance ?

Im using a gt2560r turbo on an fm manifold like flyin miata uses in thier kits, I bent my frame rail lip as instructed by fm in the fm2 installation guide. I only have about a 1/4" clearance between the turbos compressor and the frame is that enough ? Ive already beat the hell out of the lip on the rail, only way i can think of to get more clearance would to be to take a BFH and start denting the rail in

How much clearance is necessary?

You can often clock it to get more clearance. That means rotating the compressor housing so that the outlet points in a different direction.

Whether you make contact will be determined by your motor mounts and the amount of torque your engine makes. Mazda Comp mounts or stronger will be better than stock for this.

1/4 is plenty unless you have shot mounts

I just installed one with an FM manifold and I have about 1/2" of clearance. I cut slots all the way back to the vertical section of the frame rail and beat the shit out of it with a 3# sledgehammer.
