Has anyone looked at Synapse Engineering?

Synapse Engineering.... I was looking at their stuff and I really like what I see. Does anyone have any experience with their products? I have watched several videos on YouTube, and that has really made me interested. I can't use the WG, but was considering trying their BOV and fuel pressure reg. and selling my aeromotive.

Splitime 05-21-2009 03:01 PM

the science/idea is cool. Had a buddy with a WG and it seemed nice, but was tricky to get working right. I forget if he just went back to Tial because it was to annoying? or if he just got a better deal.

hustler 05-21-2009 06:16 PM

cheep, chinease built shit.

apariah 05-23-2009 08:17 PM

So harsh! :)

mojoriffic1 05-24-2009 12:15 AM

hustler, what leads you to believe that its made in china?

Link 05-24-2009 12:04 PM

They certainly aren't cheap. That's for sure. I had the 38mm wastegate on my civic, it was awesome. I liked it better than the tial I had before it. The quality and construction was top notch and the ability to adjust the boost pressure without a boost controller was excellent since I fought with shitty manual boost controllers for months before I bought the synchronic wastegate.

There are a ton of Honda guys running these, go search over on Honda-Tech.com.

I like their ideas, the BOV seems to be very fast-acting and seal very well, but you pay through the nose for it relative to other designs.

apariah 05-24-2009 07:47 PM

I bet this statement doesn't make your endorsement any stronger here.

Sadly, you'd be surprised.

mojoriffic1 05-24-2009 10:18 PM

Hustler, still haven't heard from you....so I am calling you out.

I did a search, and their info goes back to California based company. I looked at all their videos and it seem that the guy that claims to have designed and built the units speaks American English. Their product looks to be top notch, and every video they show seem to show a superior design to other units in the market. So unless you either have owned some of their product (which my origional post was inquiring about) or have factual knowledge as to their product being both "cheep" and "chinease" ( also know as cheap and chinese) I would prefer you leave your comments to yourself. Thank you very much.

Bravo, you've come across a marketing video from the company. Let me ask you a question, if you're trying to promote something to get people to buy it do you

a. show the product in the best possible light
b. explain how the product doesn't function as well as it's competitors' in certain aspects of use, while being absolutely objective about the comparison and show hard data to back up your claims
c. lie outright and say everyone else is gay

The answer is somewhere between A and C.

Also I'm glad you mentioned that he is indeed speaking AMERICAN English, I wouldn't buy anything from a limey brit :jerkit:. Time to go buy something from an eBay seller that writes in AMERICAN English, I can count on a superior product!! Ilovetacotaco you have a new customer

I am running a synapse WG. Snagged a new one for $150 during the ebay/live.com holiday promo. I only have one week of experience with it, but so far it has treated me well. Set it up for 8psi and it holds steady at 8psi.

l_bader runs one on the BEGI HEX beast with out complaint.

FWIW, like so many things today Synapse are American designed, engineered and marketed, but foreign manufactured.

Doesn't really matter to me. If it works it works, and it does. I'm kind of surprised there aren't more Miata folks running Synapse products.

Gotpsi? 05-25-2009 01:46 AM

Well some of the chinese stuff works fine so I think most people got the $50 - $100 cx racing or equivalent route.

hey fuckface,
You're calling me out? I really don't give a fuck. I'll spell chineauze however i want. Also, a friend had a synchronic blow off and it was a cheap cheouneaze pos that was quickly replaced because it sucked at life, not similar from your general MO where you go through life as a virgin, begging women to speak to you. You will not "call me out" again on this forum. You do not want Hustler inside your head.

Link 05-25-2009 12:15 PM

Synapse is a US company located in CA. The products are engineered, designed, and built in CA. So I'm not sure where you are getting the Chinese product assumption.

They aren't cheaply made, and certainly aren't cheap in price. But whatever, think what you want.

mojoriffic1 05-25-2009 01:54 PM

Hustler, at least you answered part or my origional question, I am so glad you learned how to read.

As for the f***face, thinking I can't get a woman, etc.... Well, for fun I AM CALLING YOU OUT again. Why? b/c you know nothing about me, as I know nothing about you except for your inability to answer a person's question when they are seeking answers, and your propensity toward being a total jerk on a public forum. You are gonna get in my head? Sounds like you want in my ass. But, you aren't capable of either, here is why:
A. I have seen plenty of people like you, in person and on the net.... never in my life have they been able to "get in my head".

B. I am not a ------.

You seem to be one of those people who get their rocks off on giving uneducated/unbacked opinions or throwing snide remarks b/c you are probably an idiot that would cower from an intellectual conversation/debate or physical confrontation.

Thank you very much, you have brightened my day with your shining example of stupidity.

albumleaf 05-25-2009 02:15 PM

You're a ------, now get out.
