Help with bov install

Any good suggestions for a loud bov?

also i've been looking for pictures on how to install it but can't seem to find one.

lastly would i need any special flange or adapter that i would have to buy before installing the bov

Thank you . :noob:

curly 02-19-2013 09:49 AM

Sub $50 eBay bovs can be nice and loud. Mine is at least, depends on the design. Mines a knock off of a unit that's really loud, so there ya go. For install, you just need to figure out where you want it and weld in a flange or pipe, depending on if its a bolt on or clamp on design. Although I'm a fan of the T shaped bov coupler from siliconeintakes.coo

18psi 02-19-2013 09:53 AM

is this going into your msm that still uses the stock ecu and maf?

are you really this stupid that you haven't learned anything from your last idiotic thread?

Seriously, are you really that dumb and lazy?

yep stock ecu and maf, any problems with that? plus im throwing in a 3 inch custom exhaust after the turbo

curly 02-19-2013 03:35 PM

Why, are you close or something? Put your location in your profile.

Mine's clamped right off the cold side of the intercooler, no idea if that's the best. They say right off the throttle body is the "best" location, but right off the intercooler was the only straight coupler I ended up using.

the problem is that you're an idiot.

I sincerely hope you do run a cutout venting onto your nuts so you don't procreate.

Have you seen "Idiocracy"? You ARE IT

concealer404 02-19-2013 03:55 PM

Dear lord no.

thenuge26 02-19-2013 04:39 PM

OP don't listen to the haters. Get the biggest loudest BOV you can buy. Don't worry about your idle, your car is mean, it doesn't idle anymore because idling is for pussies and you live your life at WOT.

concealer404 02-19-2013 04:40 PM

I like how OP thinks a stock MSM needs help in running as shitty as possible.

Anyways, i vote for the GFB BOV that FM used to ship in their "Big Enchilada" kits. I have mine set on full recirculate, and it's still obscenely loud. It's awful.

This isn't a 1000whp Supra for fuck's sake, it's a fucking sub-200whp (245whp on FM's dyno!) Miata. I'm ashamed to drive this thing because of the noise.

Wouldn't the best position be on the cold side of the intercooler? That way the extra boost doesn't have to travel through the intercooler

curly 02-20-2013 12:20 AM

That's what I said.

daniel912010 02-20-2013 11:10 AM

i like the way thenuge26 thinks lol

curly would you happen to have some pictures of your setup?
also what did you do with the stock bov

thanks for your help.

motormechanic 02-20-2013 11:16 AM

he doesn't have an MSM, so no stock BOV. he has an sr20 t25 with a sidemount manifold

You idiot, if you put a BOV on your MSM with the stock ECU and the MAF it won't idle.

I am a sarcastic fuck, but I'm not joking.

18psi 02-20-2013 11:24 AM

he is a waste of air

viperormiata 02-20-2013 11:37 AM

You can run dual BOV's if you want moar street kred. Use an electronic bypass valve to stage them at intervals so you get two BLOWS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

Making dimes squirt them rugs wit dat dual chingy sound

daniel912010 02-20-2013 11:56 AM

but the stock bov is plastic and garbage and tends to leak, wouldn't it be better to just change it to fix the problem plus get some extra noise out of it

thenuge26 02-20-2013 12:01 PM

Your MSM does not have a stock BOV.

Is it leaking on your car at all the massive boost levels your stock ecu can handle without shitting itself?

No?

Leave it the fuck alone.

Replace with a BYPASS valve if necessary. I hear Forge makes a good one.

Don't be stupid.

concealer404 02-20-2013 12:03 PM
