Help on DIY turbo kit.
This is my first time dealing with turbos, I've built quite a few engines mostly sb and bb gm stuff. Now I'm building up my little stock 91 1.6 im looking for a low boost setup goals of about 160-180 nothing crazy. And I'm looking at the greddy e-mange blue ecu to tune my car for the boost. Not sure what turbo I want yet. But would the ecu be able to tune to make the cat run right? I'm slowly piecing all my parts together. Figured I better start by figuring out how to tune it before I go all in with the rest of the parts. I'm also on a budget other wise I'd get a MS.

By the time you finish buying all of the parts, how much did you save by NOT getting a MS?
You will likely spend 3,000 or more on the build. You savez like 200 bucks. Used poo vs. Used MS |
Figuring out the tuning first is correct.
Honestly, I don't think you will get a ton of help on this board with the Greddy management stuff. This crowd (for some very good reasons) is very MS-centric. My questions are: What does the E-manage cost vs a used MS unit? Or versus a Brain or Rev built unit from these boards? If you cant get info on how well the E-manage is going to work before you buy, how much support can you expect when you have questions during tuning? |

He has not been on since he posted. Chances are he is not coming back.

chances are he doesn't have the brainpower to figure out how to come back

A fair assessment.
