Help Me Identify This Turbo

This turbo came with a mostly FM turbo kit I bought a few years ago. It seemed to have a mix of old and newer parts, so I'm unsure as to which turbo this is. I believe older kits had non ball bearing turbos, so just trying to figure out what exactly this is. Any help is appreciated; there is not a serial/model number plate on this turbo as there are with newer Garretts.

That is almost certainly a GT2560R. Or it could be a journal bearing T28. Is there a built in restrictor in the CHRA oil feed inlet? If no its journal bearing.

Thanks man. You can see the oil inlet in the last picture - there does appear to be a restrictor.

is the PN emblem still riveted to the chra? that would tell you for sure, but most likely it's a 2560

Nothing on the CHRA. That's what made me think it might be an older turbo.

point a flashlight into the oil feed or drain hole, if you can see a shaft that's about 2-3mm thick, it's likely JB. If you see a much thicker shaft, something about the size of a ball bearing, at least a quarter inch in girth, it's likely BB.

That's all I can think of. (and honestly, performance wise they will be identical so who cares)

This is a 2560 ball bearing. I am running the same exact turbo on my AVO kit. Fm used to source these turbos from AVO.

By my metal tag and chra number it's a turbo off an s14 240sx with a machined inlet and outlet.

Very good turbo.

I think your all making assumptions about this turbo , it may well self identify as a super charger for all we know. Oh wait wrong thread .....my bad.
