help me with my budget setup

Can anyone offer some suggestions on parts for my budget DIY setup? Im looking probably at used for almost everything. Any suggestions on a turbo i might want to use or a specific brand for a DP and manifold? How are the ebay downpipe and manifolds? I was thinking of just starting at 5 psi an gradually moving up to about 8-10 for now. Would I NEED an MSPNP for this or not? Thank you.

Im sure theres a hundreds of people that want a budget turbo kit for their budget sports car. Over the years im sure at least 1 person asked this question and maybe, just maybe someone answered it. If there was only a way to look up these old posts to get these answers...

For a budget build I'd suggest a T25 from an SR20DET Nissan engine. It will directly bolt to a Begi manifold/downpipe or a few other types as well. At 5psi, you can go with a "bandaid approach" with a fpr and timing device, but that would be all wasted money when you choose to increase the boost. I'd suggest finding your deals on all parts except engine management. You can buy the MSPNP for $$$ or spend a few hours soldering your own MS for less than half price.

NOOB Advice:
Put your location in your profile and your car setup in your signature. This makes it much easier to have a conversation. You've been warned. I won't respond to your posts or sell you any shit unless you have location/mods easily visible.

What year car do you have? Auto, 5-speed, 1.6 or 1.8?
I bought all the bandaids. And then decided I wanted to use my 550 injectors and sold them.

Check out the DIY section and click on the sticky (ALL your answers in one big post). I read it from time to time.
You don't have to buy MS. But if you want over 9 psi and gas mileage you probably want to look at your MS or piggy back options.. Ms will wind up cheaper if you have wiring abilities.
But There are several people running bandaids with no problems.

As for turbo's Im not much help. I just bought a complete used kit.
Everyone screams the ebay manifolds are crap. But for $50, I'm sure it is better than something I would weld myself. I would make some relief cuts.

Better option.
I would look for a used manifold, and buy a used turbo that fits it. Manifolds seem to be harder to come by than turbo's around my area.

If you have a 1.6, Watch for a used greddy. YOu can usually get a used kit with an afpr for $480-1000.

If you don't have the extra cash to blow on clutches, exaust, injectors and what not. It will probably be a drawn out process. I would then go bandaids. And upgrade as you go. If you are thriffty and patient, you can get a deal on bandaids, and sell them for the same price when you are ready to upgrade.

My budget opened up with overtime $$$$$, So I decided to just go all the way. But I started out to do a slow build over time.

Go the route that you can afford, don't use credit cards.

Read the DIY stickies. That will help navigate your decision. It is all about budget. Don't start out to do something and run out of money halfway in like I did. You will be months and months into it. And your ride will be shut down as well.

I have a cheap cousin that is bent and determened to use ebay parts. I told him to just buy a used greddy kit for his Del sol. But he is going to get the ebay turbo, down pipe, IC and manifold.

We are going to make our own oil supply and drain lines. Use a Vortec afpr, and a old greddy black box for timming.
He's spending aournd $480, I'm curious to see how it turns out.
