Which holes are for what? Dee, dee, dee.

Just got a GT28R. What holes are for what? Water and oil. There is a 2-bolt hole with a gasket and 3 other female threaded. Help your knowledge impaired fellow member. :sadwavey:

Thanks for educating the simple minded!

One more quick question. Is any shaft play end to end or side to side acceptable in a GT series turbo?

turbopezz 09-14-2007 10:39 PM

yes,it can have a little play,i forgot what the exact tolerance was.but its on begi website.

Side to side, less than 1mm is ok. In and out, as little as possible.

I always thought that the ball bearing turbo's would be a little tighter than a journal bearing. Am I wrong?

akaryrye 09-16-2007 03:04 AM

my bb turbo has a bit of play in the shaft too, dont worry bout it unless its extreeme, ive been running for awhile with no problems.

Didn't your mommy and daddy tell you which holes were for what? Geeze!

Which holes are in and out is easy. What goes in and what goes out is hard. According to Southpark though the flow is reversible.

My problem now is trying to clock this thing. Frozen like a mf. Been hitting it with wd40 for a couple days now. Tried torching the housing and whacking it with a deadblow, it isn't budging. Doesn't look that rusty either. Damn.

Gave up on the torch and rubber mallet. Went with torch and real hammer. Scary but popped off. Finally got it.
