Honda cops
A customer came in today for a motor swap on his 2001 Honda Civic EX with VTEC, im wondering if I could steal his coil over packs and harness clips and use them on my miata. Would they fit? Would they even work? If any one knows let me know if its even worth me cutting through the harness to get them out
thank you |
I am using COPs off a 2001 Acura CL-S maybe those would fit as well.

There would probably be some legal setbacks if you cut his coil packs out of the harness to use. Best case scenario, you would have to solder them back in, worst case scenario, you would have to replace the entire wiring harness with new honda stock.

Not sure what kind of shop you work for, but I'm fairly sure you're required to produce all old/replaced parts for customers by law in California.

Maybe the customer does not want them anymore ....

Not sure why you aren't getting more interest on this. Having more donor cars to pull parts from is always a good thing.
Let us know if it works and how much work was involved. |
I did a full Toyota COP setup from a Pontiac Vibe for under $80 all said and done. I don't see why more options are needed?
