I know hes doing it on a NB would it work on a NA he says it wont because the ignition coils get in the way i was thinking if i went down the cop route then it wont be a problm unless the front housing with thermostat doesnt fit on the rear or something on the NA block this seems like a simple cost effective solution!

Ahh just the man!!! i bought this yesterday.

i have the 1996 1.8 looking at the wiring diagram there are 4 wires coming from the miata harness. How do I make 1 wire connect to 4 coils for example the black/white coming from the harness is the ground and needs to connect to the 4 coils do i just twist the 4 wires coming off the coils together then join it from the 1 wire coming from the miata harness then fuse with solder???yes iam retarded dont ask.

I posted this one yesterday. It has been around for ages.

From what I can gather you can do this on an NA if you move the coil pack and modify or delete your EGR pipe.

I had this done on an NA with COPs and no need to move the EGR. I plugged the front of the head and got my heater core line from the back instead as well.

I actually like the angle better then the KIA water neck because at that angle, you don't need to mess with the coolant temp sensor.

where did you take your water lines from to cool your turbo still from the front?

yep, from the front.

I'm on my second build now and have the front capped off as well as no IACV.
I'll be sharing the same line as the oil cooler.

Where did you get your heater core line at from the back? I have a 94 1.8. I am contemplating doing this particular re-route, re-using the factory thermostat housing. Anyone have pix of their NA coilpacks "moved" for this re-route?

I removed the port where the oil cooler gets its coolant and tapped it for 1/2 pipe thread. I screwed a pipe into it with an extension and the 5/8" coolant line popped on that nicely. I then T'd the oil cooler line with the main return line after the thermostat.

Ahhh ok makes good sense, wouldnt happen to have any pictures of your reroute? Particularly the area of your top radiator hose and charge pipe?

haha... I welded a different inlet on the rad to that the charge pipe would clear easily.

I'll try to find pics tonight.

ok, so this is a little late but I just thought of it now so i'm posting the pics.

here is a good one of the back of the head with the engine out (you can see the egr clears and I don't need to mess with the temp sensor. heater hose fit tight onto 1/2' plumbing perfectly)

Sorry if the other pic is blurry, best on i could find... i welded the inlet on the rad at a 45 degree angle to clear the intake more easily (please excuse the mess of wires and vacuum lines)

pics are good i was wondering where people were taking their water cooling lines from for the turbo as i thought they were fitting a 30mm freeze plug as in the video.
