How do these pulls look A/F ratio wise?

It was recorded with a LC-1.. no rpm input but its easy to see where I was flooring it and where I shifted. Bacially, im running 5 to 6 psi, and the a/f ratio never went over 11.8 to 1 under full load. Thats alittle rich right? This is with a vortec riseing rate FPR with a 13 to 1 disc, so Im assumeing at 5 psi manifold pressure, the fuel pump is at full load. I have a bipes and O2 clamp too.

The files are from innovative's logworks 2.. I dont know how to convert the graph into a picture.

Oh, they are all 3rd to 5th gear pulls.

I was taught to make it full screen, hit the print screen key, open "paint", paste it into paint, and then save it as a .jpg. Its easier to see it that way for more people.

Thanks!

Stock fuel pump? If it is, run the car and carefully squeeze your return line completely closed and then read off your max fuel pressure from your fuel pressure gauge. My stock pump started out ok but then quickly lost pressure, the walbro 190hp is $90 and very easy to install, if you haven't already. Generally, 11.8 to 1 is not too rich.

stock fuel pump.

I wish mine looked that flat!

AFRs look good to me

I think they look very good, but get a second opinion from a smart person.

rotaryjunky 10-31-2007 09:42 PM

Oops, you've already got one. Now go turn up the boost and screw it all up!

rotaryjunky 10-31-2007 09:46 PM

If you do upgrade your fuel pump, you'll need to go with an 8:1 disk or buy one of the Begis I keep collecting for no good reason than to fix civics with crappy ebay fmus.

Ive already got the "I want more boost" bug lol.. But I think I can refrain from blowing it up.

rotaryjunky 10-31-2007 09:52 PM

The fact that you have afr logs is a very good sign. I lasted at 6psi for almost several months! You could try driving a stock miata once in a while to keep your perspective.

A new guy coming in with AFR logs that look good? Hell must have frozen over.

I'd prefer to see the slope of the graph flipped, so it starts at 11.8 and drops down to 11, but I'd be nitpicking then. That looks pretty fuckin' good for stock pump and an FPR.

sweet! The only reason I think that it goes up by about .3 points is because sometimes I observe a slight boost creep to 6 - 6.5 ish psi when I hit redline.

I think his post count and LC1 ownership says a lot.

And this forum is just worlds beyond anything else. I haven't even messed up my car yet and I'm an idiot.

Yes, it does. It says that he spent a lot of time here asking good questions and his setup is working very nicely for him, even though he's only had it running a week at most. I've seen so many guys come through here, especially in the last couple of months, wondering why they can't run 10psi on a setup designed for 5, or asking how they can crank up the boost without giving any regard to timing or fuel control, and then every so often you get someone who understands limitations and is making certain that their setup is running properly. :bigtu:

tune your o2 clamp to not dump in so much fuel. 12:1 is safe, you're hitting 11:1 when you're trying to spool the turbo.

Thanks I dident think of adjusting the o2 clamp! Now id want to adjust it so that it reads a higher voltage, correct? It is .32v from older guy.. what would you reccommend I up it too? Should I try like .38 ish?

And thanks alot guys, I got these a/f ratios without adjusting anything, I put everything on and it ran like a charm! Im so happy I got it right the first time haha. Plus im only 17 so I could not afford a screw up lol.

Oh, and my name is steve =)

Braineack 10-31-2007 10:52 PM

i just turned mine till it logged good, the numbers were unimportant to me.
