Default hot side cracks

just wondering if it is normal for a used td05h 16g turbo to have small cracks by the wastegate flapper and by the spot where it mounts to the manifold???
anyone ever run into this?

Very common to have hairline cracks around the WG port. Long as they're hairline it's ok.
Not so common around the turbine inlet if thats what you mean by "where it mounts to the manifold. Doesn't sound good to me though, not favorable atleast.
It's not good to have cracks like that, but if their hairline, they're usually not a problem yet. I personally wouldn't mess with a housing with turbine inlet cracks, but that's my preference.

Very common in that turbo.. and from what i have been told by a rebuilder its not an issue. That turbo seems to have quite a beefy hot side, and the cracks pose no danger or failure.. But they do cut down on the efficency.
