Hydra & FM users - what does your PWM map 2 look like?
I am trying to tune the Hydra so my boost comes early and stays at max boost throughout the rpm band. Right now, I have an increasing function where I don't get max boost until almost redline. I did adjust my wastegate earlier today, and that seemed to help matters quite a bit, but according to the data, my boost ramp looks about the same. FM says to adjust the PWM map 2 but I don't know what a 'good' curve looks like. I would like to see what you guys have and how far I should adjust it.
Thanks! Steaven Here is the original one: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8...2mapjj9.th.png And the current one: http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/4...6novkq2.th.png |
This is the wrong board for you man. I think you represent 50% of all the Hydra users here.

though Y8s seems to have the boost control "under control" - I'd pm him
|
he's using a MBC.
I'm not using hydra, but the idea behind my DC target is the same. https://www.miataturbo.net/~web1_bra...c_targets1.jpghttps://www.miataturbo.net/~web1_bra...argets_map.jpg keep the valve closed as long as possible. you can see there is about 200RPM where the valve opens up to its target DC%, the rest of the RPM range is solely for keeping the boost flat. notice I have a dip that I've tuned out by increasing the DC% |
i'm using a $10 manual boost control.
This is the best I can do for you though: http://mrcontrols.com/installs/nemesis/boostctrl.htm note you'll have to make changes depending on whether you have an internal or external gate. |

braineack, that actually helps me quite a bit. The profile they have set by default has very low numbers for the low duty cycles. I had a feeling this is what it should be, but I didn't want to make such big changes without some sort of verification. I will try it out today and let you guys know how it works out. Thanks!

Ok, thanks for that feedback. I will focus my attention on the 'other' forum ;) where there are more Hydra users.
For $2k, FM should be more willing and involved in setting up that kind of stuff for you. |

Curious, why the mbc if you have the ebc option?
oh wait, I was doing the same thing because I was too impatient to get my EBC working and tuned. :gay: I agree with Ben- and think Jeremy could give some input on where you need go from where you are via an email. |
