Yeah, none of us buy boundry engineering billet oil pumps when building a motor...none of us

I'm confused. You don't believe that people on the internet really blew their engines by doing what you did, so you wanted to do it and make sure it blew? And now that you've done your own research and found it was the oil pump, you're going to build a fully forged engine?

280 has been done. 300 has been done. 350 has been done. All on stock internals. The difference is a lot of variables. If you think the opg's fail at just 280, you're mistaken. YOURS may have but that's not the norm unless you beat the heck outa the car or track it regularly.

Your problem is you think you're special, or that you can come in here and start asking silly questions that have been discussed hundreds of times over by now and then get offended that no one is taking you seriously.

Post up your build documentation and pictures/videos. It will add credibility to your posts. Then look around. There are so many build threads on here you can pretty much find the answer to any question. Once you're familiar with the basics, you can then propose much more reasonable questions and we'll give you reasonable answers.

Good day

im just shocked he went as far as pulling his motor and getting his engine dynoed to see his real brake horsepower. that's intense.

I talked to Emilio a year or more ago and he mentioned a fail flyin miata had.
Flying miata was trying and claiming to get better oil pump life via using a expensive vibration dampener that they sell and mounts better then the factory direct dampener of that same brand. Apparently above 250 hp the pumps fail dramatically.

Obviously the pump on fm s car failed on track. Emilio (949 racing) has or knows where to get great aftermarket oil pumps. Not terribly cheap but very worth it when you consider price of the new eng and down time.

Oil pumps don't fail, that's why Emilio came out with his new 949 engine damper.

His dampener is a new product. I talked to him before he had released the dampener. I bet he still uses a aftermarket oil pump (boundary engineering) on high hp engines even with his dampener.

You had a factory oil pump fail with the factory damper in place? What RPM were you running the motor at?
