Windshield replacement
So I have to replace my windshield. I found plenty of windshields at junk yards near by, and I was wondering how easy/hard it is to DIY, shops in Miami are **** and full of thiefs.

I took on off a mustang once in a junkyard, we broke the first we tried.
But not only does my insurance covers windshield replacements for free, it's like $150 for a pro to come out so it's not even worth going used or diy.

Oh **** I just noticed there were replies to this thread. I dont really want to do it myself but there Very few good quality shops in the area and much less honest ones. I'll report later about talking to a few ppl. Most windshield question are answered by "call an expert" :/

Brand new glass should run about 110-150 bucks. I use 3M Adhesive about 20 bucks a tube. I also use primer by 3M which is about 15 bucks. I'm cheap and use old throttle cables to cut the glass out. I've installed windshields in a couple miatas and one in a buddy's RX7. Its pretty straight forward.

Maybriers is a local PPG dealer (automotive refinishing...paint ETC) got my windshield in 2 days for 115.
As Magna said any auto glass/ automotive paint store should have the glass available for order or they'll do it for ya.

I had mine removed before I painted the interior and installed a fresh one afterwards. We tried to remove it ourselves but had zero luck - the guy broke it anyway. I think I paid $200 or so, including CA tax on the part and an extra $15 fee for the return trip.
