I Need pictures in intercooler routings for inspiration.

I have to get the car running tomorrow. Either I'm going to drive without IC for a while, or I have to get it tommorow. i have the old school FM steel tubes. It looks like 2 inch ID piping.
Thanks for pictures , diagrams, or hot chicks.

Tim - is that just 2.5" 90* bend through the fender?

levnubhin 07-22-2008 11:12 AM

Tim, hows that intake working for ya? I've been thinking about doing the same.

Yes, with another angle at the very end right in front of the tire. But the bend in question is a 90deg tight radius 2.5" from ATP. Fits without hitting/rubbing on the fender. Actually fit better than the standard radius Vibrant 2" pipe.

Here's the pics I've got on my computer here at work of my install. I don't have any detail shots of the cold side not installed, and I don't have any really good shots of the hot side installed, but here is what I do have:

Engine overview (somewhat shows hotside routing):

Hotside before install:

OK I guess. The fuel map now requires a very strange dip around 3500rpm, like there's some sort of resonance going on and a lot less fuel is required. The fuel map based on the OEM manifold was very rich. But it keeps the IAT's low and was good practice welding aluminum for something usefull. I may hacksaw off the OEM TB flange and go with a cheap mustang 65mm eventually, the only thing really holding me back from doing that is it is a real PITA to get to the mounting nuts on the head. I did make 271rwhp with this manifold though.

thread jack: are those the A/C lines or PS lines you have shielded at the compressor. It's hard to tell. If it is A/C is this advised?

I forget but it's probably both. they were real close to the manifold.

Thanks for the pictures! My hotside is jacked up. There is a local place that sells high temp silicone hoses for $3.00-5.00 per foot. I'm going to intragrade it in.
TurboTim what do you charge for an IC setup?

TurboTim 07-23-2008 09:45 AM

I charge what most consider a lot.
