IAT sensor, MAF delete, do I need this?!
evening all,
another day, another question! very close to finishing my build, 93 1.8 BP engine, TD04 with ME221 standalone ECU (similar to MS but made in the UK) On the throttle body there is a pipe to the right of the intake (looking at the car) i believe this is the ICV breather pipe or something? My question, does this need to be plumbed into the intercooler piping ? I am running an IAT sensor with MAF delete cheers guys |
If it is not, then air will leak out of it while in boost.

If you're running a standalone, you can use an NB throttle body. Needs different pigtails for TPS and IAC, but the IAC is internally routed. It's nice and clean when making new piping.
Disclaimer: this is assuming your standalone is sane and lets you work with different IAC and TPS parameters. |
Good luck with that ME221. The UK hype is just that, hype.
I bashed my head against the wall for six months at FM attempting to get those things ready to sell here in the states. One step forward, two steps back. Rinse and repeat. |
