Default Intake manifold options

So I have not read anything about the honda frankenintakemaiflod recently. Is the general census gut yours (mine is a 99) or go with a custom one (such as begi or rpr)? I am looking to get a new one very shortly and am still thinking hard about scooping up a cheap honda one and welding it to a freshly cut flange (in an attempt to take advantage of my head work).

Anybody care to give some input?

I'm still planning on going the Honda route. My build progress is just going slowly... I will definitely post pics and info when it's all done. The runners line up almost perfectly.

How does the bore spacing of the honda intakes compare to the bp's? I ask because I have been looking into using a 4g63 intake mani, the bore spacing of the intake ports is damn near exactly the same. I will post pics shortly from my phone of the two gaskets overlayed.

Looks like its very close just like the honda one.

Oooh!

Ebay has a few cheap 4g63 intakes that look... pretty ok.

MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO 4 5 6 7 8 9 4G63-T TURBO RACING CHROME INTAKE MANIFOLD | eBay

Monster Performance Intake Manifold For Mitsubishi EVO 1 2 3 4G63 (Polished) | eBay

Maybe those are the same.

You can clearly see its not going to fit. So close yet SOO far. Just like the honda mani, it will require cutting/welding

Ok, I was just thinking about sourcing all the pieces to do this and thought, maybe there is a better option out there now.

Thanks guys!

I spoke with a few honda guys and they thought the better boost manifold would be the itr/blox/skunk2 manifolds. Not so much on the victory/performer mani's.

My concern was how far toward the fender does the B18 intake move the throttle body. Looking at pics and then looking at my mani I may have to rethink my cold side intercooler piping.

Found this. TNTuba's looks like I'll need to get inventive. I have FM silicone hoses, would like to keep them

Equally important is how much farther back it will sit too. Judging by pictures at least 4" back. Either way the top of cold side piping needs to be re-done

You guys really should read the whole Honda Mani thread: it pretty much has every single bit of info. Very informative thread

Link for those who can't find it. I swear the search function has died, or was coaxed into a windowless van.

I have read that thread a few times, just sharing what some others have told me to keep some conversation going.
