Idle air control valve pipe
Hi guys. I'm installing my turbo, and I ran into a wee problem with the idle air control valve pipe. I bought a self sealing silicon take off, like this one, and I had the intention of placing that in the 90 degree silicon bend at the TB and connecting the two together. The way my piping is, makes it almost impossible for this to happen, because the 90 degree silicon hose is simply too close to it to allow me to run a hose from one to another. Can that hose have a filter on it, or does it have sense the flow of air into the engine?

I've not had any problem with the silicon hose I used, it has a steel wire spiral built in to keep it in shape on the tight bends.

I'm running Megasquirt with MAF delete. If you don't route the IACV into your intake, you will experience a boost leak through the IACV. Otherwise, there is no problem just putting a filter on the IACV given the MAF delete. This has been posted about, so do a search. I think some have done it and the boost leak is small enough that it didn't bother them. Others found it unacceptable. |
Make a bigger loop.

is it being used? I know some people aren't using it, including me, and I just plugged it with a bolt.
