I should have all my parts this week. I have a base Greddy setup with plans to run 6 psi. I have a Bipes ACU, 1.8L injectors, and a adjustable fuel regulator. Do I still need to run a FMU? I may go ahead and install a 190 LPH fuel pump as well. Thanks in advance

Isnt that what the adjustable fuel pressure regulator is? Ive always had a standalone and never went with bandaids

You say 6psi now but then it turns to 8... then 10.. then 12...

Boost is addicting if you havent heard. Pretty soon you will need bigger injectors and a standalone or voodoo box to control them

I just have a adjustable regulator. A FMU spikes the fuel pressure when it reaches certain boost points by shutting off the return line. In the future I will upgrade to a MS. Just starting low now. I use to run a supercharged mustang pushing 12 psi. This is the first turbo setup

if you have a 1:1 regulator wih adjustable static/base pressure, then yes, you still need a rising rate regulator (fmu)

People seem to be confusing a normal linear adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a rising rate unit, which do the same thing except one has an adjustment 1:1 proportional to boost where the other can go from 2:1 all the way to 12:1 and higher.

With all thats been said, here's the fuel regulator I ordered. I guess I'm wondering if I can just spike the fuel pressure up a little with this and use it in conjunction with the stock regulator which is a 1:1 regulator as I was told.

that's not what you need. you need to read the DIY TURBO FAQ under fuel pressure regulators.

I did, but I guess I'm going to again. Thanks! I was confused, but I'm back up to speed. I need a FMU. I have one if I can find it that I used on the Mustang a while back. If not, maybe I can find one in the classifieds pretty cheap.

Auxilary fuel pumps run alongside your stock fuel pump and join into one line increasing fuel pressure/fuel volume per second. A regulator just keeps that flow within your parameters. So yes, you will need both items. Check to see if the seller will take it back.

Just buy Bell's revised FMU, and just be done with it. You can actually just forget your FMU+Walbro and just buy a megasquirt and REALLY be done with your management needs for good.
