Default Installing 460's......*edit: mission accomplished :)

Ok, so today I was finally well enough to get in the garage and do something productive for a change. Removed the intake manifold top portion and disconnect fuel rail/connectors:

AND THIS IS WHAT I FIND:

Now someone correct me if I'm wrong and call me and idiot, but those do not look ANYTHING like the red injectors the 99-00 cars are supposed to come with. They are pink in color, and have a weird part number on them that doesnt match up with anything I've seen so far.

The only "pink top" injector in Brains DIY thread is listed as a 315cc toyota 3sgte injector.
Has my car been running on 315cc injectors this whole time?

Also, what is the best way to disconnect the rail from the line going to it? the connector is weird as **** and I'm trying to disconnect without breaking anything.

Those aren't even stock connectors. What's the part number on those injectors?

One side reads:
___918
INP-059

and the other
__H
N240H

I wonder what car they're from and what size. If anything I'll resell em.
I'm guessing they're no bigger than 305-315's though since the car was able to idle/run flawlessly bone stock with them.

those look like the rx7 460s, 86-87. #195500-1350?

Edit: nvm. Too slow to the draw.

DSM injectors: Non-Turbo 4G63 - N240H Injectors-casting #INP-059 (240cc High Impedance)

You can buy the fuel rail disconnector tool at any parts store in the 'HELP' section usually. They come in 3 packs with 3 different sizes. It's a plastic piece that slides over the hard pipe and up into the connector and releases the inner plastic sleeve.

The engine/driveline appears to be in great shape, compression was flawless across all 4 cylinders so I wouldnt be too quick to call the car "beaten on". I do know now for sure that the car was turbo'd before: the bumper and plastics had intercooler/piping cutouts in them, as well as vacuum tubing routed into the interior. The bigger (I'm assuming) injectors confirm this 100%.

What does the wiring going to the injectors look like? He must have cut/spliced wires to be able to use those injectors.

Doesnt look like its been touched actually. The rx7 red top 460's that I'm dropping in look EXACTLY the same dimention/layout wise. The only difference is the color and part numbers, but other than that every single thing about them is the same. Kinda makes me think the ones on there were rx7 injectors. weird

np, yeah those look a lot like the 460 rx7 injectors. I take it you're about to put in the 195500-1350 ones?

So it's been boosted before, eh? Looks like he threw in whatever injectors he could find to go back to stock-ish. Have you had the tranny off yet? It might already have a clutch and the PO didn't want to bother pulling the tranny to recover a used HP clutch if he couldn't get enough $ to justify it.

Wouldn't be the first "found" clutch. IIRC, someone here found an ACT in a motor/tranny that he bought.

Well considering how soft/mushy it is I really doubt its got an aftermarket clutch. It holds just fine, but I suspect as soon as I'm over 200 that sucker will end its life fast. Which is why I already have an act sitting around

INJECTORS ARE IN

turned ignition on, built up pressure and checked for leaks. so far no leaks at all. Now I just have to tweak the adaptronic to get along with the new injectors

Awesome...that's a good feeling I know.

After that it feels like the turbo install is downhill. For me atleast that was the only support system holding me back.

Yeah man, I'm happy its all back together and looks like its running a-ok.
The thing that frustrates me is that I get so little time to work on my car, it could have been boosted at least 2 months ago, and I'm just now finishing everything up. Taking my time though, as Its been windy/raining here and I've been sick with the flu and working 10 hour days at work (from everyone else being sick with the flu lol)..........If I dont COMPLETELY finish everything up and go for a long cruise by the end of this month, I'm going to turn into hustler
