Installing artech/absurdflow style DPs

I emailed Abe but I figured I'd post here since I really want this buttoned up

I have a (beautiful) Artech DP for a Greddy set up. I, perhaps naively, I assumed I could snake it up from the bottom since my manifold/turbo is in place.

Needlessly I will state, I'm posting because I can't get the thing to fit and I have a suspicion I might need to do some dissassembly ... which sucks since my manifold/turbo is all stage 8 fasteners, quote "I really hope I don't have to take this apart for a long while"

remove the manifold partially.

I have no experience with your exact setup but i build a LOT of tight turbo setups.

Loosen engine mount on driver's side, lift engine and you should be able to install the downpipe.

^^^^ That.
A lot of us who started NA had to do this to fit the headers in.

I run a 2.5" ARtech DP with my Greddy set-up. I remove the turbo and slide the downpipe in and then bolt the turbo back in. I've tried short cuts, including loosening the driver's side motor mount and it ended up taking way more time than just removing the turbo. Who knows, maybe you'll have better luck though.

I'd pull the turbo. It's not that big a deal to take apart the stage 8 hardware (done it a couple of times) -- certainly easier that messing with a mount and jacking the engine. The Artech hardware is beautiful, don't bang it all up.

BTW, on the stage 8, it's really easy to remove the C-clips by gently prying them with a flat-blade screwdriver against the stud (insert blade in space, rotate screwdriver to apply pressure). With the TD04, you have really good access to three of the C-clips. The one near the brake master cylinder is more difficult. Had to resort to pliers there.

Ha, with my 3" DP on my side mount setup, the turbo and the manifold need to be out for it to snake in. Good luck.

Got away with just removing the turbo.

I tried unbolting the engine mounts and jacking up the block but no dice - turbo had to be unbolted.

Side note: Cerakote is AWESOME. In some late night frustration the DP got banged around pretty badly - I really thought the finish would be damaged. Nope! Wiped the Cerakote with some denatured alcohol and it looks perfect (the nicely painted chassis ... not so much).

Ill update my build thread tomorrow.
