Intercooler piping help!: Cross over tube?
I picked up a turbo miata in "project mode" - and almost got it back together except for the this mystery in the picture. Do you simply get a piece of hose to cross over the two sides of the intercooler tubing?
Looking for some insight into what to do here. (see pics) : https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...662dfacb30.jpg left intercooler tubing from throttle body https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f27d6988cc.jpg tubing from turbo to filter |
Top photo barb goes to your MBC/EBC, then to your wastegate actuator's barb - it's your boost pressure source.
Second photo barb is for for venting the crank-case air cleanly. ie. Hotside crank case barb -> Oil Catch Can -> AIr Intake Barb |
The barb in the first photo is way too big for a vacuum line.
To me looks like it's for a recirculating BOV which dumps into the barb in front of the filter. Do I see an MAF in your second pic? What engine/fuel management you running? |
Mspnp 2
Thanks for the response, I figured it was a recirc tube as well.
I just bought a MSPNP 2 to replace Link. I also have the speed density setup ready to install. Any suggestions with that setup? |

Just cap them off unless you will run recirc bov. Get rid of that MAF if you on MS.

Are we sure that isn't the barb someone added to connect to the idle air control valve?

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6056262e96.png That's a heck of an interesting looking pipe in general. I can't recall having ever seen it before. Any idea where it came from? The mention of Link makes me think FM, but I thought that theirs had always been welded tube. |
