Good choice. I think you'd be disappointed with what a bullet style resonator is capable of.

Ok, just measured under there, the vibrant ultra flow would probably fit, but be REALLLLLY tight under there. Not sure I'm comfortable running it that close.

I have a question about the stupid Magnaflow "core size" logic though, can someone explain to me how 3 mufflers can all have 3" in and 3" out, one be 4" OD, the other be 5" OD, and the other be 6" OD, and yet "CORE SIZE" listed for all 3 of them is the same - 3"

HOW??!!

Do they taper larger and smaller inside so its really not a 3" passage like the in/out piping is, but smaller and bigger?

Example:
THIS
vs
THIS
vs
THIS

can someone please explain?

The "core" is the inside diameter of the resonator. The area between the core and the "body" diameter is what makes up the volume of the resonator. For instance, the 5in round has more volume than the 4in round, even though they both have a 3in core..

The core is just the perferated inner tube that keeps the packing material in place.

This is a great example, the inner part is the core - both have a 3in core. The outer part is the body diameter.

Are those 12" long mufflers? That sounds like a recipe for a headache even with a resonator + cat.

Nope, that's a different exhaust I posted to show the vibrant resonator.

Post 11 shows my current 2 exhausts, the invidia (top one) I'm selling now, and the cobb (bottom) is the one I'll be running. Its supposed to be one of the quietest exhausts for this car, even with that tiny little resonator it comes with. It better be, its $1200

I'm adding another muffler to it as stated in this thread.

I did some measuring, and just not comfortable fitting the Ultra Quiet, its just too close to the floorpan, so I just ordered a Magnaflow 12867

*edit: my setup is catted dp, that magnaflow, then that giant can in the rear. Should be the quietest full 3" setup hands down. IMO

Got my magnaflow in from FAB/Bryan and it looks great. Happy with the decision, hopefully it achieves my goals as well as it looks

Will the invidia fit on the 04?

I was going to say... if you buy the 3" Ultra Quiet and it does not fit, I'd totally buy it from you. Looks like I'm a little late though.
