Jet Lube - Nikal Nuclear
Has anyone played with this stuff?
Jet-Lube of Canada Ltd. - Nikal Nuclear High Temperature Anti-Seize and Gasket Compound - World Leaders in Anti-Seize, Sealants and Lubrication I've heard of industries using it to prep gasket-less mating surfaces - fill up any slack in tolerances. It doesn't appear to harden, but the exhaust housing will always be under positive pressure so it shouldn't f* with the fan. Maybe some insurance on a gasket-less turbo seal? -Zach |
Awesome! Who wants to get in on a 55 liter drum with me?

No experience with Jet Lube. Around here we use AnaLube. :giggle:
They make a big deal out of its use for nuclear turbine systems, which as far as I know are steam driven. It's temp rating will handle however hot your exhaust will get but it also says not to use it with LPG. I'm wondering to what extent its performance would be degraded by unburned fuel in the exhaust, for example. You could always call them and ask. |

There's also a 3000deg ceramic based sealant/adhesive used for marine/industrial diesels, gas turbines, etc. - may give this one a shot as it's engineered use scenarios align quite well sealing a turbo flange. gasket-less was fun while it lasted. -zach |

hmmm, temp rating is much better than a good RTV silicone? - which I've used with some success.

That sounds like a good idea but what if you put too fat a bead on? And a glop of hardended resbond hit your turbie?
