Which kind of muffler

It is getting too annoying dd'ing with the straight pipe, so time to put a muffler on. I'm trying to decide between a glasspack or actual muffler, i dont know how much either will quiet my exhaust down. Basically going to buy a cheap one from summit, which type do you suggest? And hopefully it still sounds alright.

I fully recommend a quality muffler. A little resonator like link#1 wont really do shit, it will take out the rasp and that's about it. The second muffler is chambered, and is just absolutely garbage for a turbo setup. What you want is something more like this:
Dynomax 2.5"

6" case with enough packing to really take some volume out. I have the magnaflow equivalent of that on my car with 1 resonator and its VERY nice on the street. Sounds like a slightly louder stock miata to be honest, but it has a nice smooth tone when you get on it. If you run it without a resonator it would have a fairly quiet, but still raw sound.

is this similar to the one you have? what is the difference between the Perforated stainless tube with packing in the magnaflow vs the
Glass-wrap perforated tube of the dynomax.
I've never really set up an exhaust before so thanks for the help.

That's pretty much exactly what I have. Heres a video that JayL took at the dyno day last weekend. Obviously the sound is a little distorted because of being in a building, but you get the idea.

The overall diameter of the case makes a big difference because it requires volume to absorb the individual pulses. That volume will also give you a deeper tone. The material in the case makes a difference as well. Glass doesn't last.

Cherry bomb glass pack, from your local pepboys for about $35 bucks and a magnaflow straight-thru muffler. should spend about $100 bucks total.

A cherry bomb works great for about a year. You may as well just hollow it out when you put it on. I tried using one on my exhaust as a resonator when I was N/A.

I'm a big fan of magnaflow. Put them on most of my cars that I want to keep the noise down on.
