Largest injectors on stock 1.8

I'm currently in the process of piecing together a custom turbo kit on my 97 and my next purchase is going to be injectors.

I currently have a bone stock motor being run off of a Reverent built MS2.

My question is what are the biggest injectors you can run with a stock motor but full standalone?
My plan is to turbo it and possibly switch over to E85 depending on where I move in the next year and eventually build the motor.
If I could just buy large injectors just once that would be ideal but if not then oh well.

You can run any size you want.
Most tend to go with the id1000

Allofit.

I was originally thinking just going with 1000's but was worried it may cause some issue because wouldn't the fuel just be trickling out instead of being sprayed?

Not in the modern era using injectors designed more recently than 3 decades ago.

Isn't technology grand! Thanks 👍

The fuel would trickle out of an injector if the pressure was low. It still sprays, just less.

Modern tech is pretty sweet.

I recommend and sell ID1000s for most setups, but email me if you want a recommendation based on your specific setup/use.

motor is stock, so shall be injectors.

I'd size them according to the power goals, and buy them only when that's going to happen.

I ran ID 1000 for a couple of weeks , NA , until I got the the rest of my turbo system together and installed. Ran and idled as good as stock if not better . Just do it .

Looks like ID 1000's then. Thanks guys

One more question. Any reason why you guys recommend Injector Dynamics over DeatschWerks? Only reason I ask is because I've used DW's before and have good experiences with them and was originally going to go with their 1k's.

Because ID injectors have amazingly low open times. My 800 dws simply cant match that. Other than a little loopy idle here and there they run fine though.

I haven't used the DW injectors, but I'll throw in another vote for the ID1000s. I've been running them for about two years without a single hiccup. Their injector characterization and matching is very impressive, and they'll be more consistent down to very low on times as long as you have a matched set.

I used DW1000's back in 2010 and 2011. Sold them and switched to ID1000's and my life has been better in every way. My idle is smoother, can idle at 14.7afr or 18.1afr, my cock grew 3 inches, and I have your mom on speed dial now. My DW's required extremely high values in my fuel table on my MS3x that I was never happy with also.

truth
he's got your dad on speed dial too

Meh i've been idling my DW800s at 15afr without issues.

Let me be slightly more specific. I could idle at 15afr but it was extremely rough. This was with sequential fuel and spark on an MS3x. I had to drop it down to at least 13.5afr for it to even start becoming smooth. The other issue was my values in TS in the fuel table were crazy high. Using the required fuel calculator with my specs shot out a number. I used that, but the value in my fuel table down low were something like 120+, getting into 10psi of boost and I was around 200 or something stupid like that. I know the value are arbitrary, but I did not like having them that high. I honestly felt like I was going to hit 255 in a fuel cell before 20psi. I could have changed the required fuel number to get lower numbers in my fuel table, but that seemed like a bad way to solve this problem. Especially when I should not be having this problem using the correct required fuel.

I switched to ID1000's and these issues went away. I will admit the DW1000's I used were from 2010, so they might have been the old EV1 injectors or something. I think DW has switched to newer injectors but I am not positive. I myself will just not ever spend the money again to find out, when I know the ID's will work amazing.

Hmm did you adjust your dead times properly?

Had them adjusted to what the sheet I got with them said, I think it was in the 1.4-1.6ms range or something. I am using the 620cc EV14 Mustang injectors in my 97 with an MS3x and they are working good so far.
