they don't do anything, they look ugly, and you can't tow by them.

UofACATS 02-18-2007 06:52 PM

Can you load the car on a towtruck with them?

UofACATS 02-18-2007 06:53 PM

Rican, did you install the emanage on the armrest?

looking good thus far

I've always heard never to use them for anything...just as tie downs...but maybe if you were easy?

UofACATS 02-18-2007 07:03 PM

Right. Used for shipping as far as I know. But they do seem strong enough to support the car being loaded on the ramp/towtruck. Guess I'm used to it.

If it explodes (say rear end goes) what are the tow points?

/Jack

magnamx-5 02-18-2007 07:16 PM

those are for pulling it onto the truck yeah they tie into the subframe + they give you a spot to strap down while on the dyno :D

adbradley 02-18-2007 07:35 PM

wait a minute lock on drain plug. what are we talkin about here?

Atlanta93LE 02-18-2007 07:44 PM

just be careful to remove it when you get out...I mean...if someone is stealing your oil..they wont hesitate to take your EMU :gay:

seriously though, don't get that shit stolen.

RicanmiataRacer 02-18-2007 10:03 PM

I cant find anywhere else to conceal the damn thing, I figure just throw a t-shirt over it when I park my car so nobody sees it:bigtu:

boostinsteve 02-18-2007 10:09 PM

The glove box is where mine is and I just made a styrofoam holding pod and covered that in vinyl.

you can mount it to the rear bulkhead beside the stock ecu... easy to access by just popping the passengers side seat forward.

VRTSid 02-19-2007 10:31 AM

hidden under the rear deck carpet maybe?

dude seriously if your having a problem with shit getting stolen, paint that damn intercooler black... nothing attracts thieves around here more than a big ass disco ball in the grill.

no chance in hell I'd do that.... drop it behind the passenger seat, on in the front footwell, or behind the glove box....anywhere but there.

My car has never been towed, only loaded onto either a dolly or trailer for transport.

I use control arms as tie down points also, still have the baby teeth laying around just they look shitty on the car.

Or even in the glovebox... your gun will still fit. Provided it is a pistol (I think my dad's rifle would fit in the mazda3 glovebox).

RicanmiataRacer 02-19-2007 05:56 PM

I guess I'll mount it close to the factory ecu, and I guess I could paint the intercooler black.....(so much for the bling Factor), I guess It be better to draw attention away from my emanage so my shit does'nt get broken into....

I have the emanage hidden under the carpet above the armrest (where the top folds down, no interference with anything and not visable
