Exclamation HELP! Fuel Management questions

I am a Newbie. I have some used systems local to choose from. Apexi SAFC 2$175, Apexi Neo new in box $260, Greedy E-manage Ultimate with full software and universal wiring harness $350.00. And a shop is trying to sell me a Jet Chip reprogram on my stock ECU $313.
Which one is easiest and what is better?
Has anyone used the jet chip for your turbo system. They said tell them what spec.s I have and they will tune the computer and all I do is plug it up. Almost sounds to good.
Another guy said Apexi Neo is great but since it doesn't do timing that my Msd boost retard will rob all my power.
How hard is it to program the EMU. ONE GUY SAID STAY AWAY FROM IT and the megasquirt they are not functionable! Everyone here seems to love them.

I have an TD05-16G turbo, intercooler, fuel pressure reg, 550cc injectors, BOV, Miat MSD boost ing. retard, AEM Uego wide band and a manual boost controller.

If I run what I have, how much boost can I run and what type or gas mileage can I expect babying it to work. I just want it on the car. I only have $400.00, So I'll have to tun it myself. Thanks

Um, they are trying to rip you off. Get a megasquirt (you can get all the stuff for about $320) and you are set. If you have to buy from them, then get the EMU, which is a deicent system.

I have never herd of a jet chip...

Megasquirt. But of the things you listed, E-manage Ultimate would be the best choice.

MegaSquirt - well sorted, and great support if you purchase from diyautotune.com.

Cheers!

MS. Everything you listed doesn't compare. Stay away from that shop.

jet chip... so they gonna reprogram your stock ecu to handle the WB data? thats interesting. and then do they charge you $300 when you change something so they can "re-tune" it just by flashing it?

That sounds about right on the jet chip. I think a rburn is 65.00 with shipping. I want to run 12psi and call it quits. I have to drive this car daily to work. im concerned about the gas milage though. Thats the whole reason I haven't just put the fuel pressure reg. on it And lack of a stronger clutch.

OK then. EMU would be easier. MS would be better. Economy is directly related to weight of right foot. I get low-mid 20s in city and mid-high 20s in mixed city and interstate. I would expect 30 mpg+ on a highway trip. Numbers are based off trip odometer, 4.10 rear with stock 4.30 speedo gear, so they're not inflated.

I hate you. 75mph on the highway nets me a grand total of 25mpg. **** California gas.

Oxegenated fuel ftl. Lean out your highway cruise a tad. I'm about 15.7:1 or so from 55-75 mph. "Supercruise" like a Civic.

Thats sweet I can deal with 20's, SORRY TO KEEP PICKING BRAINS....BUT??????

A. What is the differance between Brianeacks pnp vs Ms pnp?
B. And what are the pro's and cons of EMU vs MS vs Braineacks pnp
C. Will one make more power or better efficency, if so how much.
D. greddy seems to start out cheaper and always nickle and dime you to death. This kit has software universal wiring harness. Is that all I need.
E. Would it be better to buy a e manage an just use the auto tune?
F. I seen MS has a knocksence feature. and boost control, Does EMU have that?

Im trying to get this car together to shut up a relative that thinks his slow *** thunderbird is the ****!

Im not a great wiring or a computer guroo. But I can get the job done just slooow and careful......
Thanks for your support

I'm in Lewisville running mspnp. I bet I know who told you to stay away from MS. You can come help in the tuning process with me if you like. I'm trey, with the green car who track ****** with the TDR crew. I and my new roommate will soon both run MSpnp. I'm just starting to learn this stuff, but maybe I can show you how really easy it is to get the car going, then use some simple logic to get everything right. I also have 3 torsen swaps for sale and a good motor...and all other kinds of crap. We should hook up.

A. I'll let him answer
b. ms in general is stand alone so you don't have to jack with two ecm's who don't like each other by definition
c. output solely depends upon tune
d. ?
e. no
f. ?

I know a handful of people who can't get EMU to work right on their NB's. With either mspnp offering, you just plug the bitch in and drive it that day. You don't have to worry about OBD2 compliance, so rejoice in stand alone.

Yes.

Things the PNP will do that the EMU will not do:

-No-Lift Shifting
-Launch Control
-Boost Control
-Water Injection control
-Idle huge injectors properly
-Delete the AFM

I'm sure there's more, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. The MS is so much better than an EMU it's not even funny.
