manifold

i came across someone selling a xs turbo manifold for a 1.8 miata and i wanted to see if anyone had any experience with the manifolds and weather or not this is a good manifold design, and possibly what you guys might recommend for a manifold, at the moment i think im going to go with a t25 turbo from and sr20.

this is the manifold that the guy is selling

hahah sry should have prob searched harder. im just trying to get a good idea for manifolds for the miata, seems like there are alot more for the 1.6 than the 1.8

That would probably crack in a month or two.

There's about an equal amount of manifolds made out there for the 1.8 and 1.6 so the picking's good.

Check out the vendors area and see for yourself, Lots of designs and discussions on everyone of them.

goodluck!

I'll make it short and sweet: don't get crap. You can make crap look shiny but its still crap. Read the 2 hundred million threads we have on here about manifolds. If after reading them you still think this manifold is cool then get it. Report back:giggle:

MarkP's old chinese manifold (similar to the pic above) has run countless track events without cracking with the help of a support brace running from the turbo flange to the block. Yes they're thin, but I think the real fault is in expecting the tubing to support that much cantilevered load.

That may be true (or maybe he just got lucky), but if you were to modify the manifold and improve it, you might as well build your own.
