Manifold leaking (again)..

I have an older FM cast manifold that i bought used. It was warped so I had it planed (surface that mounts to the head), installed a new gasket and torqued it to specs. A few weeks later,it's leaking again...
Am I the only one with this kind of problem ?
What can I do about it (I doubt that getting it planed again will help much)?

I'm running a 2554R at 12 PSI, I understand that runing a small turbo at (relatively) high boost is pretty much worst case for manifold pressure and heat, but there has to be a solution for this..

I really hate to turn the in fan off everytime I hav to stop in front of a traffic light to avoid CO poisoning and suffocation.

It is impossible that your GT25r at 12psi is causing anything to happen that would warp a cast manifold.

Are you washing the engine bay while still hot? I had a buddy who had warped just about everything under the hood over the course of a year, and he had been troubleshooting heat extraction methods and trying to figure it all out.

I went over to his house on afternoon and he was hosing down the engine after just getting home from work. "I'm cooling it off so we can work on it faster".

"Dave, I think I just figured out why you're always warping shit"... turns out he only had an hour every day after getting home from work before his wife did, and he'd put the hose directly on the hot parts cooling them off so he didn't have to "wait".

Switch to E85... smell of alcohol is amazing :D

I have this problem with my begi manifold however i'm unsure if its the manifold or the downpipe.

My ETD manifold was warped when i got it and then cracked but i still think it leaks even after planing and checking the bolts every week or so.

It's the manifold, I can see black residue on the side of the head aboce cylinder 2.

I though about switching to E85, but for a different reason....

I never washed the engine bay with the engine hot.

maybe your not tightening the bolts correctly. with something like manifold or something that has alot of bolts i like to do each bolt little by little so that it puts pressure evenly.
