Mazdaspeed Miata Oil feed and water port thread and pitch?
Hi, Trying to figure out if anyone knows the thread and pitch of the Stock oil feed from the block for the stock turbo and also the Water lines? I need to block all of this stuff off. Im Putting a Greddy 18g that's only oil cooled on and Im running the oil feed from the oil press sensor already.
Also does anyone know if theres anything special that needs to happen to remove the EGR since my Taco manifold doesn't have a place to screw it in? I know they have the block off plates. But is there a sensor or anything that is going to throw a CEL that needs to be taken care of? Thanks for any help. |
Well you install a standalone engine management system and then you won't get any CEL's for the EGR being removed. Otherwise yes, you will have some CEL's.

this sounds like a really solid start to fail and aids.
tacotaco manifold? greddy old school 18g turbo? why ruin a mazdaspeed? |

tacotaco manifold? greddy old school 18g turbo? why ruin a mazdaspeed? I know this is like one of my first post here but im not a newbie. Bored...but not a newbie lol. But Im pretty much making a bolt on Turbo upgrade on the car that can be put back to stock quick and easy if I want. Turbo piping will simply be a fabbed up pipe from comp outlet to the stock front mount intercooler pipe by the radiator, fabbed downpipe going to the stock exhaust location, Stock oil and water ports plugged (which is why I want the thread and pitch), oil return going to the stock location with an adaptor plate so I don't have to drill and tap anything. So basically no cutting or anything and everything can be put back to stock or upgraded later. I know the limits of the stock block and the stock injectors so I wont be going crazy Until I get the standalone. But I just wanna see how it runs right now at low boost. |
Ok I see what you're doing, no worries. I think the oil port on the block is the same size/pitch as the pre-95 BP's. That info should be way easier to find for you.
Do you at least have a wideband? You're gonna have a real bad time doing this with the stock ecu. |

It would be awesome if I could run a Stand alone with no CEL. I don't think that's possible though it is? Im also trying to run this with the Stock potato of an ECU and see how it runs first. Call me Crazy. I know....

Aftermarket ecu's do not typically run OBDII, therefore they do not produce CEL's.

With the stock potato ECU you will most likely get CEL's when running without the EGR tube hooked up.
