Miata Newbie Wanting FI

Hello everyone.

I've owned my Miata for about a year in March and I just bought a 2012 Mazdaspeed3 and I'm addicted to boost again.

Sadly, I live in CA so there are no CARB legal kits for the NB Miatas.

What I'm looking to do research on is the costs of putting together a kit. What are the components?

Manifold
Turbo
IC
Fueling?
ECU?
Etc.

Also, how easy/difficult is it to install DIY?

If only there were some kind of world wide resource, that could give details on these things. Sadly, such a resource doesn't seem to exist.

If we tell you all the components, and the prices, and the difficulty, are you going to invite mt.net members over to help you install it all too?

Haha didn't think about inviting members over.

I've pulled and installed the motor for my 94 Single Turbo RX7 so I'm pretty sure I could attack this on my own unless there is some special magic tricks that I'd need to know about.

Maybe we should start a DIY FAQ thread to help out people with these types of questions. What do you guys think? I mean, eventually someone might find it useful, right?

We'd probably have better luck starting a new post asking if anyone has a DIY FAQ laying around that we could use.

Sir.

Because clearly you are too daft to read the post just above your own, Here I provide you with a link to it.

https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo...big-post-4288/

Read That.

Then, go read AT LEAST 5 build threads.

Find them here.

If your next post in this thread does not include a list of the 5 builds you read, you will receive a failing grade and somebody will ban you, or flame you til you leave.

The key is to find a website or forum that specializes in the car you want to modify, and then ask the members how to do all the work for you.

DIY shouldn't be too bad, keep reading and you will be an expert in no time.

Also if you are in CA then you will have no choice but to become a turbo installation expert since you will have to take it off every 2 years.
