i know the 3 common ways of sourcing oil for turbos on these cars. the t fitting/sandwich plate/and a chosen few are lucky to have a oil port on the exhaust side of the block.

i really diddnt want to have oil lines going all the way around the back of the motor and i was poking around a spare head and i noticed it has black hex key plugs on the top corners of the head. i pulled one out and i confirmed that it was oil in there but im not sure if ill get in trouble if i try and use it for a source for my turbow.

using one of these plugs would make it really convenient because i could source it from the exhaust side of the motor. i was gonna re thread it and install clean *** AN fittings and all that jazz.

let me know if you guys need pics. dont be mad i swear i searched i couldnt find anything about those little plugs.

I've heard people discuss these ports before...

There's a fairly small restrictive orifice pressed into the block in the oil galley which feeds up into the head. I'd be worried that if you start drawing any significant quantity of oil out of the head to feed a turbo that you might starve the cams and followers of pressure.

****....ur prolly right. i saw that little oil port i was surprised that it flowed enough oil to feed a head.
