Moving the heater hose to make room for the downpipe?

How has everyone gone about moving the heater hose that's trying to occupy the space my BEGI DP needs to occupy? I saw Sam's thread on how to use an Escort hardpipe, but I don't have time to search the junkyards. I started college yesterday and I'm trying to tie up the loose ends so I can go home in a week, spend two days getting the car running, and then bring it down here for a week to tune it in time for Mazfest. I have way more money than time. Can I just nip a piece off of the end of that hardline and use a worm clamp to hold the heater hose on there, or will that leak? I don't have time to do a full coolant reroute, and I'd really like to keep my heater core since it doesn't leak or rattle and I use my car during the winter. :)

Any ideas for me?

If you look at their instructions you will see that you are supposed to take a huge ass piece of wood and "push" it backward to bend it back.

I did both, bent the line a little bit and cut off ~1" of the rubber line. Wrap that sh*t with some heat resistant stuff and you're golden.
