What did you use? I have been thinking about doing that very thing but have not found any resonated tips yet, that I like, that are small enough to fit. 3" inlet, short body length.

Mine are Ansa 2.5" in 3.5" out, definitely not short. I think the car would be too loud without them. Sounds great with them. Everyone who's been in my car has commented on how awesome the exhaust sounds. :)

Hustler just to be sure are you talking resonator tips or mufflers? I'm looking for a tip I could add to the existing system to make it a little quieter.

muffler. Ask an independent 3rd party...I possibly have the coolest sounding 4-cylinder on earth supported by consistently awesome reactions. Its a touch annoying on road trips, and talking on the cell-phone is a challenge though.

Sir I challenge you to a duel.

With my duals.

ZX-Tex 04-22-2009 09:04 PM

I challenge you both, with my cowl induction and ported compressor housing. Nyeah.
I like the Ansa tips, they just do not have one with a 3" inlet, and I am not sure I want to run a reducer just for the tip.

I would not want to reduce either. I'm sure if you google resonated exhaust tips, you'll find some you like. I did that before...

Yeah I tired the google thing too and I keep turning up the same sources. I am going to try ebay and jeg's next. I already looked at Summit. Monza also has some nice compact tips but do not make one with a 3" inlet.

Ahh, there we go. Hooker, although an old school name, makes one with a 3" inlet. Not sure if 10" will fit lengthwise (that is what she said).

Chicks dig big tips. Ask your girlfriend about mine.

Machismo 04-23-2009 11:16 AM

Kittys do to..... or so I've just read! ;)

m2cupcar 04-23-2009 12:03 PM

There are tons of tips on ebay- find a 3.5" you like, chop it off at the taper so it'll slide over the 3" exhaust and tack it in place.

ZX-Tex 04-23-2009 12:07 PM

Well I want a resonating tip that is short, like less than 10" so I can fit it on the existing enthuza tail pipe (cutting it down to the bend) and not have it stick a mile out of the bumper. Those seem to be harder to find.

m2cupcar 04-23-2009 12:36 PM

Ahhh- ok. Yes, I'm in a similar situation - I think with my magna since it's angled and the offset exit hole is very close to the bumper exit. Your's like this?

ZX-Tex 04-23-2009 01:58 PM

Yeah pretty much. The muffler is not angled but I do not have much more space to work with than what you show above. So far the Hooker is the only thing I have found in a 3" inlet that comes close to working. The Monza would be even better (it is shorter) but they do not have a 3" inlet option.

Machismo 04-23-2009 03:07 PM

Going by buddy's shop shortly.....I'll see what he's got laying around. Might have some options for ya. Who knows?

m2cupcar 04-23-2009 04:24 PM

or maybe a can of spray chrome :giggle:

Machismo 04-23-2009 04:27 PM

/\ ;) he he
He's got some resonated tubes that can be sectioned to you desired length and inlet. They aren't tunable, but scrap is scrap.

ZX-Tex 04-23-2009 04:54 PM

Thanks I appreciate that. I bought one of the Hooker tips so if that does not work out I'll PM you.
