Default Turbonetics Wastegate - Mystery Port

I noticed a vacant threaded port on my wastegate the other day. What is this port used for? Do I need to worry about any contaminant getting inside? I checked the installation instructions on Turbonetics site, but they don't give any indication of what it's used for. Thanks!

A friend did a turbonetics kit on his tc, and the guys installing it ran the vacuum/boost reference line to the top port.

Thing ran really strong down low but horribly bad up top, they couldnt figure out why so he took it to alamo motorsports and the lead tech took about all of 3 secs to diagnose it.

Thats how I learned how a wastegate works.
