Default oil restrictor or not?

So I'm about to plumb my HY35 holset for oil feed and am wondering if it should have a restrictor or not? I don't know what the oil presure of the dodge diesel trucks tipicaly is, if you have any insight please let me know thanks!

If its journal bearing I don't think it needs a restrictor. I'm pretty sure its not ball bearing.

No I dont think Holset makes a ball bearing turbo. I do think the Cummins has less than 60psi of oil pressure and that is what is making me wonder.

If all else fails you can lurk on the Dodge sites and find out.

No restrictor for the holset (journal bearing).

Every other Subaru STi turbo gets a crack like that past 40k miles jfyi. It is never a problem. Don't think you'll have any problems.

Make sure to weld it PROPERLY though. There's a process to welding cast steel like that. If you do it wrong it will hold for all of a few days.

If you don't want to put a restrictor in a journal bearing holset then why do we do it to our Garrett turbo's?

Assuming the turbo goes on a Miata engine, you MUST use a restrictor.

What dictates restrictor or not is what pressure is going to be feeded to it, not where it came from.

The Greddy kits have it included, like I learned the other day, so there is no need as it would be redundant.
