Default Compressor fin - Cause for concern?

Pulled my intake off today while fixing something on my NA6 and noticed this raised line on the fin of my compressor blade. Is this a cause for concern? Any idea what the deposits on it are from?

Further details on my setup in the meet and greet thread. Turbo is a 2560 ball bearing.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it, I've seen worse that we're still working fine.
Also, if you took the intake off to see it, then that's your compressor wheel, not your turbine.

You talking about the white paint on the blade? Ive bought a couple brand new garrett turbos and they both had some paint on one of the compressor blades.

Glad to hear it's not too much of an issue. Thanks for the fast reply.

Yeh, I was talking about the white paint. Don't remember it being there when I bought the turbo 2nd hand, but I just may not have paid it any attention. Just caught my eye because of the raised line on the compressor fin.

just to ease your mind, here is a pic of my brand new gt2560r, you can see the same white paint on it, Im not sure if I should wipe it off before I install the turbo or not yet

My gut reaction is that the white paint is on there to make up the remaining few hundredths of a gram in the final balance of the 70,000 rpm wheel.

Or it could just be for aesthetics.

it's for warranty purposes. pretty easy to detect FOD if the white paint is chipped up.
