wow, you have like 2 yards of duct in that engine bay. too much pressure drop for me, i need the filter as close to the Throttle Body as possible for max effect.

For example, have you ever noticed when using a vacuum with the hose extension that as the hose gets longer, the suction pressure drops? well, that is what is likely happening when you use too much duct in your bay. you get cold, dense air, but is it enough to make up for the extra load on your engine to suck it in?

plus if you aren't using smooth duct, there is a mess of turbulence going on inside the duct work causing even more problems.

remember, short and smooth is always better when it comes to duct work.

OK a few points:
1. That is my CAI.
2. The total length of the hose is under 3 feet.
3. The outside pleated portion of the hose is just for insulation/abrasion. There is an inner duct that is smooth. 2.5" Aeroduct.
4. I have calculated the pressure drop through the duct at 300 HP of air flow and it is negligible.
5. It works.

I say keep the box and add an intercooler when you have time. BTW that looks good.

Have a great day,
Jared

I would be willing to pass along the templates, but i don't think i want to make any more of the finished boxes, it takes too long with the limited tools i have. all pieces were cut by hand, except the hard to reach areas where i used my dremel.

if anyone wants a template shipped to them, i would do it for 30 bucks shipped. Trust me, if you are doing this build, you would save about 10 hours of measuring, cutting and model building to get to the final step.
