Need Advice: GT25R Wastegate & Bracket
I just got a friend of mine to source a GT2554r from a MSP. I'll get some pictures up as soon as the dorm internet decides to start working. I do NOT have a wastegate or the wastegate bracket for it which presents a slight problem. I'd like to be running ~12 psi once I get it tuned...and there seem to be a couple of different wastegates for sale at ATP turbo, as well as a really expensive bracket. $50 for the bracket...
Should I try to source a used MSP wastegate (set at 6.5 psi) or buy a new wastegate and then try to find a used bracket from an MSP? From pictures they appear to be the same, the wastegate bracket attaches to the rear of the compressor housing rather than the front like my T25 that I sold did. EDIT: Getting a new wastegate...what psi spring should I run? |
I may have something that bolts up, I'll let you know once you post the pictures.

I have a wastegate bracket which I don't need, but it is holding turbine housing. I'd like to trade bracket to normal double washer plate.

Anybody have any opinions on what psi wastegate I should buy? |
Whatever psi lets you run a MBC. Maybe 8 or 10? You don't want it to be too far below your desired boost.

I've got 5-10 psi springs.

Here is where I need to get a bracket for...
Attachment 216954 http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...s/IMG_0437.jpg looks similar to this one I guess? http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...8R004_full.jpg |
Any wastegate actuator can be made to work really, just drill and tap the compressor housing, you can bolt-on whatever you desire.
Find an actuator that has bolt-on capability and you're good to go. |

or get a alumium bracket welded on.

What sort of room are you working with? Would it be possible to reposition the body of the WGA more like the one that turbopezz posted?

kinda a dumb question, but I assume that it can be clocked the same as a T-25? |
Usually all that prevents you from clocking a turbo the way you want it is the wastegate. So clock it how you need it and go from there.
