Need help finding a manifold option for 1.8
alright i have my flame suit on but i searched i promise...
Any ways i am collecting parts to turbo my 01 nb at the moment. And i have been looking and reading on all my options for a 1.8 manifolds. The car is not a track car so i was looking at the cast options Begi, flying miata. But i came across one website that had a weld your own kit for the 1.6 and 1.8. It had stage 1 through 3 on the website and it would give you the flanges and small bends for a small tubular but kinda log style. it looked good being that is wasnt too large of a tubular that it wouldnt crack given it being welded correctly, Well anyways that is what i was looking for because i like the idea of building my own manifold seeing that i have the skills and the resources to weld it correctly myself. So if anyone can remember that website it was posted around here i found it in one of my searches and lost it. i apologize but i was wondering if it is even still around. thanks guys |
I think its jgs fabrication:

awesome thanks man. Has anyone here made one with good results?

If I remember correctly, ApexOnYou had a JGS manifold.

Hey witty was your manifold a jgs?
I may build my own but im still on the fence the begi is a little higher but its proven and has egr. Hmmm but with this I can have a little more play where I put the turbo |
Is EGR really that important for your setup? Since you are even considering the idea of welding your own manifold, why not just add the EGR ferrule to the manifold? It should only take a few minutes once you have the general configuration.
I have the BEGI 1.8 manifold and have had no problems or complaints with it. |
what you say is true.
just feeling out my options. thank you for your thoughts on the matter it helps. |
If you are confident in your TIG welding abilities just do a little diggin around and figure which bends you will need and buy some stainless. You should be able to get all your materials for something south of 350$.

yea i wouldnt tig weld it. i should but i dont have access to the tools too.
i run a mig welder at work albeit welding on train cars. i figured i would have all the stuff at work to weld it. But being that without being able to keep heat out of it. and do it correctly. so i may just go with a begi or fm |
