need intercooler info

I'm about to pull the trigger and buy and fm1 intercooler kit for my begi-s turbo miata. I have searched and can't find the info I am looking for. What are the dimensions of the intercooler. Will it be an efficient set up for 14psi? and will the piping interfere with my rb tubular swaybar?

just get one of those ebay IC's like everyone else here is running, get the exact dimensions you want and route the piping just the way you want...

i cant answer your question on the FM1 though...

I was originally going to do a chinacooler setup, but after pricing everything out it will cost more than the fm1 kit i found.

Cooler is 100 bucks, how much is FM1's kit? I am not gonna go search but ill guess maybe 3 times that.

You could ask BEGI, They would know more about than FM. The FM I set up was good for 8psi, the FM II had a larger I/C, for 12-15psi.

Generally speaking you want the smallest most efficient size you can find. If your just running the streets, you can get away w/ a smaller I/C, but for the Track, or Dyno Queens you'll want the largest one that will fit. I doubt the sway will be a problem.

True you can buy one on evilbay and fab it up, but if you don't have the fabrication tools and welder, the FM is a better deal (assuming it's $300 or less)

FWIW the core is 11x8x3? But that's just from that listing... Also FM used several different I/C's over the years. (My friends FM II setup has a really, really, small I/C (It's one of the originals though))

cooler is $100 but piping is another $200+

piping should be way less than that
but if your getting a whole kit for 150 and the IC is adequate than i would say yeah, go for it, its a good deal
but if its 150 just for the IC, i would pass and just piece together my own thing...
