Need to manually trick the IAC for higher load idle speed - how ?
2002 car
So my car has idle issues and I know this is a band-aid on amputated leg but for now it will help me DD it. My car idle jumps then dies, still diagnosing but for now if I keep the A/C switch on it idles high enough where it wont stall. which is good for when my wife drives it. How do I manually tell the IAC to act as if the A/C is on? Is the IAC what I need to jump? I don't want the A/C on all the time. Until I fix it properly this is my chosen path. |
The A/C button on the climate control panel goes to the ECU, then the ECU sends a signal to the A/C compressor clutch to engage. (This is highly simplified, but fundamentally accurate.)
Thus, the only way to make the ECU think that the A/C is on without the A/C actually being on involves disconnecting either the A/C clutch relay or the wire that goes to the compressor itself. |
Ha that was to simple - ill just disconnect at the A/C then.
Thanks now I have to go away with my tail bwtween my legs................... |
