New T2x Manifold option for EU punters
So in doing my weekly "what's new at my favourite vendors" bit of window shopping whilst plotting and scheming upgrades, i've seen this:
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...124667c3b0.jpg BOFI T2 Underslung Store Page | Blog Post Introduction Thing Quite liking the prospect of an underslung setup. Nothing was really like this over here short of the cheapo "no hit block" chinafold, or the Artech which i only really learnt about from Gregs vids. Given i'd like to eek as much spool and flow out of my GT2560R (Currently on a Kraken T2x Manifold) when i come to throw some rods in the ole girl later in the year, i'm keen to see your thoughts. |
This manifold looks simply like an Absurdflow copycat.
Buy my artech ramhorn (seen in image under my username) |

$1300 is a pretty hefty price and not sure if that includes VAT and shipping. I've had other stuff from DaveFab and he does nice work but I'm not sure there's a problem this solves other than downpipe clearance. Just my opinion.
EDIT: The $1300USD is exchange rate from the 832.50GBP after placing one in the basket not the 999.99 on the site. |
I'm selling mine if you don't mind used. It's been a great manifold and I'm reluctant to let it go. Just wanting to try something new before heading in a completely different direction and possibly parting out.

This is my thinking tho, i've got a Davefab washerbottle relocation and a coolant tank, and ive seen their own bonkers EFR manifold which is most definetly a work of art, which lends me to think this'll be a nice route for eeking everything outta my 2560R. |
Like mine:

Gonna sag and crack.

They are right, my solution looks like this, along with the downpipe braced to the gearbox, shown in the above photo.
It's also quite difficult to get a good weld on the inside of the turbo flange because the runners limit the angle of the TIG torch, so you need a number 9 mini torch setup with a flex head and I also have another trick or 2 to get in there. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...8611cb6c68.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...da69e82046.jpg |
Gotta say dann, doesn't look half bad. I like the DP with the bottom mounts. Looks like you could put together a pretty decent EWG path as well. I wish Garrett would get off their butts and give us a competative option to the EFR.
I shudder when I think about the install, especially the oil and coolant lines. I also don't see how you can get a favorable drain on there. Worth contemplating though if I ever decide to refactor. |
The GTX2867r is a beast and im MY opinion, comparable.
Ive got a customers car making what Savs makes on the same boost. Ive never compared torque@rpm though. Dann |
Not sure why my sig didn't show up in that last post...

Or, in more words and less snark: an EFR6758 and a 2867R are on different planets with specific regard to real-world response and driveability. I have driven both. (Maybe the car I drove was a 2863R, which doesn't help its case at all.) |
Tuned and driven both also.
To each their own. (The 2863 was an inferior and now discontinued turbo) Dann |
